I like a hot rod to sound like a hot rod, so I run DynoMax Ultra-Flow mufflers with a 3 inch in and out pipe. Deep, throaty sound but not illegally loud. No drone except inside a car wash!

I like my big-boy-toy to be simple...to me functional simplicity is one of the highest forms of elegance. Towards that end, what I'm planning and hope to begin building soon is a car based on the post WWII modifieds and track roadsters. No top, no windows,no heater, no radio, no bling...but as comfortable to drive as I can make it without getting complex. But as with most things in life, there is an exception...the provisions needed for my disability mobility issues.
On the sound issue, I prefer a deep mellow roar, with no droning. I'd rather not alienate the neighbors. Unfortunately my project car will likely violate that preference, because I'm planning on weed burners with 8" motorcycle baffles in the end of each tube. I'll have to settle for trying to get a bit of roar out of my Cougar.
