And a Happy New Year to you also! In response to the fan question, you'll need to identify/verify how the circuit operates but many that use the sensor simply control the ground side of the circuit. As a test, turn the keyswitch to on and then touch the wire that goes to the sensor to a metal part of the motor. If the fan starts, then you simply need to add a wire through a switch that can open/close the ground circuit.

If it doesn't start, then you'll need to identify the power wires and test them for voltage, if none is found then you'll need to send power through a switch to open / close the power circuit.

I'll bet yours is the first scenario. Do a couple investigative tests and let us know the results. There are a couple really good guys on here that play with electricity and are very helpful.

X2, ^^^ Keep in mind, manual operation will be un-fun, and you have a good chance of forgetting to turning it on, just saying.

I'm assuming you want to be able to manually override the temp sensor. The wire coming off the temp sensor should be providing a ground to the fan when the sensor is closed so you need to splice into that wire and run it to a spst switch on the dash. Then run a wire from the other post on the switch to ground. With the switch open the sensor controls when the fan comes on and with the switch closed it overrides the sensor.

That's a good one, never considered that before.

Thanks guys! Just had to run a wire to the switch from the fan. That gave it a ground and now I have a fan I can turn on and off. Thanks for all the help. Finally back on my feet. hopefully I can get something done.
