That looks like a tractor pulling contest, I think this is more of what he has in mind

Yep. Don't want to build a puller with a Mowett, that's a task best suited to a Cub Cadet..

I don't know how I'm going to mod the frame and what I'm going to do in that respect other than it will have a scratch built T bucket body on it..

I have a design for a belt drive setup that would mimic the original Ford Model T transmission operation with 3 pedals and a hand throttle, but I would need to add a centrifagul clutch to the mix so that the kids could actually drive it successfully, and then a foot throttle for safety

Just a thought..... when I was going to put the little 2 cycle in the tot rod, my plan was to just use pulleys and a loose belt. Then use a pedal operated tensioner pulley for the kids to engage and disengage the engine (placed where a gas pedal would be), and a second pedal for the brake.

You could either set the engine speed at the engine or if you trust the kids enough let them adjust it with a hand throttle on the dash.

I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Cool project you're working on! We had a go kart built out of an old lawn mower when we were small boys. That thing was a blast. Good luck with the project!
