Observant of you to be concerned. Fortunately I've got some pretty good subs on this job. Both the guy responsible for the dirt/base work, and the landscapers started with concerns/discussions about drainage so it was as much of a priority for them as it would be for me. The concrete guys have a very good runoff slope layout that will mostly drain off into that area where the first new expansion joint shows. That will drain into a swale that follows the property line just a few feet away to the right in the pic. It's a bit hard to see accurately in the pictures, and of course we haven't even gotten to dealing with final grade on the soil. We did have a short but intense rain storm last night and that spot you mentioned is currently a hole, but there is no sign of water this morning. Our soil here perks (if that doesn't translate to kiwi let's say absorbs) pretty well, so water management doesn't require extreme measures.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
