"Just Driving Your Hot Rod" videos

As suggested by Hot Rod Nick here A log of my updates on my '32 Brookville highboy I just have to give credit where credit is due.

Post your hot rod videos, lets see how they sound and run.

Stone cold on the new 427, so taking it easy.

3.3 miles later, downtown El Dorado and Poor Red's Ribs.

Heading towards Placerville and hwy 50.

Getting onto hwy 50 eastbound, lazy 2nd to 4th shift.

Back on hwy 49 heading back to El Dorado.

The Tee intersection downtown El Dorado and Poor Red's on the right.

Thanks a lot for starting this thread, Bob. I'm glad you did it since you actually have a bunch of vids already. I promise to contribute vids and I'm trying to figure out just what kind of camera I want to get. It's narrowing down to a GoPro Hero3 but still looking around for a couple more days and then I'll pull that trigger.

Talk about pulling the trigger, in the meantime I'll post this pic from my cruise today. After driving around a couple hours I ended up cutting across Philadelphia through the Fairmount section and stopped in front of Eastern State Penitentiary (operational from 1821 to 1971) to take this photo. My best friend used to live across the street from it after it was converted to a historic landmark. Just as I was about to snap the shutter, I heard the ghostly voices of Willie Sutton and Al Capone say "dude! If we would'a had a fast '32 they wouldn't have caught us and stuck us in here!"

    Nick,

Most all digital cameras have a video function. I went with the GoPro because most the time I don't have a passenger to hold and shoot the camera. Most all the pictures I post is taken with a Sony Cyber Shot, such as this one

    Here is a video taken with the same camera. The engine was the 383, 320 hp @ 4050, 516 lb/ft @ 2800.

Well Nick, it looks like folks don't have any videos of "just driving their hot rod" that they are willing to post. On my forum I also have a header dedicated to videos without much response. I'll post a few more as time goes on, and with your upcoming videos it might catch on. Or maybe it is a tech issue where folks don't know how to use YouTube and then link back to here. Or possibly they don't even know their digital camera more than likely has a movie mode.

I'm all of the above! Just learned the camera can do a video! And have never taken or posted a video so it'll take some practice and I'll see about getting one up..

Do you have a free You Tube account? I'd be happy to walk you through the process of posting videos here on the forum, it is pretty easy on this forum.

The signing up process for YouTube is quick and easy. Downloading your video, depending on your connection speed takes some time but you can still use your computer for other things while this dl happens in the background. Once on YouTube, you can link to the forums your active on like this one. At the top of this box your typing in, there is a symbol of 2 frames of movie film, the 2nd from the right. On YouTube for your video click on the address to highlight it, then press "Ctrl" and "c" together on your keyboard, that will copy the address. Come back to the forum and click on that icon of 2 frames of movie film and another box will appear for you to paste the address of YouTube that your video is at. From that box that just appeared, depress "Ctrl" and "v" together and you will see the address appear.

This was a few weeks ago. I'm driving my coupe behind my buddy in Austin.

    Earlier that day...

This was taken by my friend Bob on my wedding day 3 years ago. I've rebuilt the car since then...

I've always known my cell phone camera can take vids, as well as my other digital cameras. But I almost never have a passenger to hold the camera so I'd have to use a camera mount ..which as I wrote that I recall having one of those suction cup camera mounts and it holds very well on clean glass or surfaces such as the body behind the seats in the roadster. I just never used it except to test it out since I had no motivation to have vids ...until now.

    dreddybear,
Those are awesome vids that just make me want to go outside right now and take a long drive in mine. A bunch of real nice hot rods in there.

Now were cooking with gas, great rumble vids, dreddybear.

This happens so much on my local mountain roads, on the 2 lane part 45 mph, then when one of the few and far between passing lanes comes up, everyone rolls on their throttle, take the 6* grade passing lane at 7000' elevation, and nobody has the power to pass. If they don't move over quickly, I'll just pass on the right.

Bet there was a "single finger salute" from that mini-van at the 57 second mark. He/she was obviously in the process of moving over, wheels across the center line when you blasted by on the right..... Many problems with road rage around there, Bob?

    Roger,

There might have been the salute, I didn't look. A sign announced the upcoming passing lane which had the string of cars go from 45 to 60 mph. Wasn't it obvious from the video that his/her 1st thought was to stay left? Some drivers assume since they are wide open, nobody will be able to pass. Here is something a bit more sedate.

That last one is a little too sedate, Bob

After the "youtube" vids finish, the options for other vids remind me that having a vid with a buxom young lass sitting in the passenger seat with her beautiful bountiful bosoms bouncing brazingly from her blouse would be ...benevolent I will have to find a volunteer for that and I encourage all of you to do the same...and then post it here.
