Thanks, Jerry and Roger, for posting this. I just read an article on this somewhere else (I don't remember where), but you have some pictures that weren't in the other article.

As for the current owner leaving it as found - I think that is disrespectful of this car's place in history. Fortman was a fool for leaving the car out in the weather for 20 years (where most of the damage was probably done) and keeping it as-is seems more like a monument to neglect and mistreatment. This irreplaceable jewel needs to be fully restored back to exactly the way it was in 1954. If Robins can't afford to do this car justice, he should pass it on to someone who can. Since this car has a drag racing background, it would be a great addition to the Don Garlits museum.
