I'm pretty excited about it. I've had a hankering for it since they first came out with it but I knew I wouldn't spend the money on it until after the car was all together. This might minimize bad ideas of a blower for a while too.

Don't be talking crazy now! Just look at all the money you saved!

That's what my wife used to say after she'd gone out shopping with her girlfriends - "I had an amazing day! I saved almost $500!!"

Congrats on the win! Looks great on the engine. It would, however, look much better sitting on top of a 6-71 blower. Just sayin', of course!

Plus another $3500 or more so the Hemi will live. Did I ever mention I have a rusty 72 suburban to build for my wife now? Yeah, there won't be any 671's without a death bed or divorce I'm pretty certain. Haha

The set up on the dual manifold works great to play with in your first go a round. When the blower comes, the set up goes right on top. Life could not be sweeter!

I don't believe these will work as draw through. I think you have to step up to the power adder set up and it comes at an extra cost. I didn't want to push my luck and ask for the higher set up. I felt I pushed my luck as far as I should.

I'm surprised! I expect that you're right, but I would have thought that the "power adder setup" would be for turbo applications or ProCharger type setups blowing through the induction system. As it sits now it's "draw through", and on top of a Roots type blower it'd still be "draw through", just at higher rates of flow with the pressure boosted below the rotors. I would have thought that sitting atop the blower would just be like setting atop a bigger engine - just more flow.

The way you roll you'll probably find a guy who wants to pay you for a couple of days labor sorting out his diesel swap with an old 6-71 blower that was rebuilt in 1965 and has been on a shelf since.

I would expect the throttle bodies to be the same, just bigger injectors and programing (which should be able to be updated later).

The blaster got the hood done and I finally got it picked up. It actually cleaned up pretty well. Now, to use ospho or acid on the rust spots to kill the rust so I can prime it?

FWIW, IMHO,it'll look just fine without a hole in the hood for a 6-71. I love blown Hemi's, but I love stock looking 40's better. I have loved 40's since I was little and still regret ever parting with the one I owned.

That's what I thought too. I spoke with their tech guy and he said these don't flow enough air and can't provide enough fuel for a supercharger. I asked if it was an idle air bleed issue or? And he said they just don't work on blowers. They say no boost and naturally aspirated in the first paragraph.

Those were my thoughts too. I figured if I leave the engine relatively stock and 2 390 carbs on a 392 is plenty, this 625hp capable system should be plenty for a basically stock under 400CI engine. You can change some parameters in the hand held too.

That's why I'm leaving my original hood alone. If I hate the looks of the hole and scoop, I can always go back to the original hood. I love the lines of a 40 too. Especially a sedan. I've been thinking about frenching the license plate into below the deck lid for a cleaner look but I can't make my mind up on that either.

OK, I called Fitech today and spoke with a different guy. He laughed and said the other guy wasn't a tech guy. He said no, they're not meant to be ran in boost applications because there is no boost regulating device on these and the programming isn't set up for it. He said the power adder setup they sell does all that. He did say that these would probably work if a person watched the AFR under boost and went in and tuned it according. Dam..... I probably shouldn't have made a second phone call........
