Newman's Bug

I recall the stories of Steve McQueen having a VW Bug sporting a Porsche engine that surprised a lot of folks around SOCAL, but I'd never heard about the one that Paul Newman had built - a 351W mid-engine screamer! This is a link to OldBug where the car is listed at a cool $250K:eek: The Paul Newman V8 Beetle, but it shows several old articles from Hot Rod and other period magazines, showing the story of the car.

Once I saw the pictures in the magazine and the "Cool Hand" title, I do remember seeing that article years ago. Paul was quite the racer. Neat story and car, thanks for sharing. :)
