I watched a car that sold Saturday night for $110,000. This particular car had been purchased in May 2010 at a Mecum auction for $115,000. The Mecum price included the buyers fee. The BJ price did not so the $110K netted the seller $99K. So, the guy lost $16K on the car in 8 months....plus any entrance fees, detailing the car, advertising, etc. Therefore, the car is going down about 10% a year.....in six years it will be affordable.
The basic fault of the BJ auction on TV is that it is difficult to assess the real quality of the cars. You can run 10 Camaros thru in a line and the price varies quite a bit. This year, BJ had a bunch of wooden wagons run thru the auction earlier in the week. Must have been filler stuff or a buddy of Mr Jackson's.

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
