    small bearing ford 9 inch

Looking for rear disc brakes for small bearing ford 9", can anybody give me any info on what i can use. I have looked at wilwoods new pro street kit with internal parking brake, a little
to much for me. I am a machinist by trade. I can make brakets if
needed. Some people say put bigger disc in the front not the rear, is this true or will this just make the fronts stop better???

    THANKS FOR THE HELP..

We did a forum on this not long ago, think it was either in hot rod talk or shop talk. Anyway, you can use a GM Metric caliper (like on a 79 Monte Carlo), a front rotor off a Jeep Cherokee (if your bolt pattern is still 5 on 4 1/2, then fab or buy the bracket to mount the caliper to the housing. Many of these kits for sale, or do your own at the parts store. Try Speedway Motors for the bracket or your local circle burner parts store.

Joe there are kits around that use Calipers from '76-78 Cadillac Eldorado and Lincoln 11" roters. If you do a search on EBay for "Rear Disc Brakes" you should get some returns. There are pictures of brackets you could use as a starting point plus other items for sale including refurbished calipers. The neat thing about those calipers is they have a parking brake set up.

Let us know how it works out

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!
