Just so everybody knows, it's kenny's fault I have this '28 roadster............he's what's known as an enabler.

Mr. Bob, I am building a boat. Will these panels work for the hull and transom?

Hi Uncle Bob, I absolutely want your model A, it looks awesome on those '32 rails but just quietly, lose the odd looking grille please but please don't put a '32 grille on it,that is just so over done now.
After completing the Bucket when I'm back at work earning money again, a '29 A 5 window with flatty etc is on my next build list. Probably will be a fibreglass body but I don't care as the standard of the bodies over here is excellent.
The company I worked for when I first moved to Auckland used to manufacture panels like that also for an Electrical company making cabinets etc for switch boards.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Well Whip, if you don't like my grille, you're probably not going to care much for what I actually have planned for hood sides.
And part of why I'm going this direction with the grille is because I agree with you that the Deuce grille has just been done to death.
But now, here's some irony for you. My next installment (part wise) on this thread will be a pile of parts that will be the start of a hiboy A coupe. My first preference would be the '28-9, but if the right body comes along I'll even take a 30-1.
Here's some inspiration for you. (us?) Now all I've got to do is get my buddy kenny to "enable" me again with a good coupe body.

And Whip, just to pound on you some more, here's a different angle on your "favorite" grille.

And your point............?

Yes Steve, exactly why I've always wanted one......and now have two!
Okay, so one's a '30, but.......
That first coupe was built by Richard Graves down in Long Beach Ca. Long time, very skilled rodder. What's particularly notable about that car is the way he made the body and frame absolutely conform to one another. We mere hacks do the easy way and let the body hang over the frame. It's that extra detail that separates the truly outstanding cars. As for the grille the picture below will clarify it some I'm sure.
Here's a picture with the original grille insert which I like, but I think I'm going to play with the notion of a stainless, woven wire insert as well. I'm going to have to widen this one just a might to get the hood fitment I want, so I may have to do something with that center bar, and that lump going over the top needs to be scaled back some. And then a rolled "chin" underneath to obscure the front cross member and visually fill the void left by the flat bottom. There will be a bunch of little tweaks necessary to get it to it's best. As for what it's from, you should be able to read the logo better in this close up. It's a RARE factory option......
