Question Need some help identifying a few things on my ride....

OK, as some of you already know, I traded my old boat for a '29 five window coupe on Craigslist not too long ago

Thing is, I know absolutely zip about these cars, so I have a few basic newbish questions

    1) Where's the VIN number located on this thing? (I haven't even looked for it yet)

    2) How much of a chop do I have?

I did some quick measurements and came up with 12" from the top of the cowl to the top of the windshield and 11" from the bottom of the windshield to the top of the windshield.

It was hard to get a good measurement to the top of the roof due to the shape

On the passenger side door, I got 10.5" from the inside of the window frame

    3) Any idea what kind of front brakes I have?

I'd like to at least know what kind of pads to ask for at VatoZone when I need replacements

    4) Where can I get a remote brake reservior kit?

There's no access door fom the floor of the body and checking the level earlier today turned out to be a real pita, but I'm glad I did cause the seal was in poor shape

Front brakes are GM metric--common on Monte Carlo's and the lake from the 80's

To get a remote reservoir you'll need the master cylinder that goes with it... All of the good Hot Rod stores on the 'net have them... Wilwood is a good brand name to watch for.

If it's an original Model A frame it is stamped on top of the driver's side frame rail under the cowl and the body has to be removed to see it.

Your windshield it very modified from stock so that measurement doesn't do much. The side window though should work. I don't have the stock dimension to compare, maybe someone here does, but by looking at the side view picture it looks to be 3 1/2 to 4 inch chop.

    Not really

I got it on a small series of trades on Craigslist and only had about $5k total invested in it

It was just way too big for me to haul with my SUV and probably 10 times the gas guzzler that the Ford is lol

You can purchase a remote kit that adapts to your existing master cylinder. a C.N.C lid with the remote reservoir and lines. I ran one on my last build, Nice thing there is a bleeder on the lid. though the manufacture's name is drawing a blank.

I have pics, but seems it will not upload

    Thanx for the photo

Although, it looks like the double bail kits I've seen on the net and won't fit my single bail master

That being said, I've noticed a slight leak from the push rod, so I decided to pickup a regular replacement master from Speedway since I can't afford one of the fancy onces built for remote reservoirs at this time
