To tell you the truth, I have had some hands on experience as, me and my dad do 85% of are faimilies mechanic work togther , just last summer we replaced the head on his 1983 Mercedes Benz 240D and I have been helping change the rotors and brake pads on my faimilies cars. I never claimed to know it all but, now that I have been given a lot of information from people on this site, I can help others out with the knowladge I have been given on questions they have that are simmiler to the ones I had or, ones I know the answers to. I wish to get into Hot Rod building as a profession and attend Hot Rod Technical Institute. Oh, and I'm not in collage, I'm just in High School. I don't want to offend anyone, or make myself feel superior to others, just I may post some things that way when I word them wrong but I mean nothing of it.Originally posted by inlineidiot

Do you think that a more cost efficent way to go would be to get a 454 or 502 off road RAT engine instead of having the old 74' 350 rebuilt and then put some performance cams, intakes and carbs on it?I know it would cost around $500 for the rebuild. I would still put the intake, carb and cam on but I want to make the most low end torq as i can cheaply. Oh, you wont have to worry about me speeding with it, it is geared so low ( factory ) that it probably wont do over 70 but in the same token, it would go anywhere and be unstoppable.
I got's to find out what truck it actually is b4 I order the LMC cat , but I found these guys whail serchin on the internet http://www.brothersonlinestore.com, They seems to have everyting I need cept, the shifter boot thing that holds it 2 the floor and the seat covers. Of course I will check LMC b4 ordering any part. I think to save money I'm just gonna have the 350 that's in it rebuilt and I'll just add on a performance cam and other variouse torq builders such as the intakes and carbs and a few other things. One quick question, The truck is equipped with a perfectly good radiator ( or was ) but it is not in very good visual condition and is very rusty, what can I use to paint the radiator or refinish it at a fairly inexpensive price? Yeah, I don't know if the core is any good on it now that a month or so ago my brother thought it would be a good idea to use the old top radiator hose for a cold air intake on his car ( can we say cobjob ), He also took the horn for a secondary on his car ( don't know why ) but, I got one that works in the impala parts car I got and, it uses the same exazt hook up, in fact it's the same exzact case but, it sounds a little diffrent.
gots the truck model it's a K 15 cause it's 4X4
