4" wider, but there are also other special rear ends that are wider than that. like the S10/ Blazer Extreme, and the ZR2's.. IIRC both of those are just a bit wider than the regular 60" 4x4 axle, but are also 8.5 rear ends instead of 7.5 and usually have a G80 gov-lock. finding 1 of those tho, you'll pay for it because the S10 guys want themYou don't know what you've got til it's gone
