    My new project..60 olds...

Well I sold the 51 Chevy last month and was jonesing for a new project...Found this for sale on the HAMB. Had to travel all the way to Charlotte Mich. but it was worth it! I never thought Id be into the 60's cars, but Im really gettin into these things!.....Plans are to keep it as a mild custom, with the stock 394/auto. Just gonna do a nice interior and paint it candy maroon.....gotta loose the wheels and go with thin white walls and chrome reversed and baby moons.....I'll keep yall posted...here's some pics of unloading it.....

I love those 60's Oldsmobiles. The 394 is one of my favorites and they run great.

I think the wheels and ww will look just right on that one.

Another place to watch for parts is H.A.M.B. classified "Parts For Sale"; there seems to be a lot of Olds and other early (pre-seventy) stuff on there, most of the time.

That brings up a question....This car originaly had a 371. He replaced the engine with a 394 out of a 62 olds....when it was installed into the 60, the exhaust manifolds had the exit in the wrong place and the original 371 manifolds wouldn't fit. He had a shop refurbush the 371 heads and reinstalled them onto the 394 so he could use the 371 exhaust manifolds. The engine has NOT been fired up since the swap. Does this sound like an ok swap? So I guess when I look for an intake manifold or exhaust headers, they should be for a 371?

Pat...do you have a contact for this gu with the Olds parts?????

Pat is absolutely correct. I see manifolds being sold on Ebay all the time that say they fit 303- 371-394..........WRONG!!! You want one that fits 59-64. I'll get you the part number off of mine next time I am at the shop if you want.
