I believe the concert in question was in Europe....don't think a lot of those folks voted for Bush.
The people at that concert cheered.....it was the folks back in the US that got angry.
PS: Don't forget.....that sign was paid for out of the public coffers....I would think some folks would be upset about that.Last edited by RestoRod; 06-29-2010 at 10:26 AM.
Remember, Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.
Duct tape is like 'The Force.' It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

Thanks Don, lets all get back on track with helping Pop Don with his build and forget the politics of the country or any other country for that matter and lets all remember that these pictures are all about fun that we post at each other every now and then. On a serious note please remember what is written in the Bible," all mankind are born into sin,and the only true leader of this world is God our Heavenly Father" and in the book of Revelation he will return and concur the evil one that is in charge of this world at the moment.
I know,I know religion and politics should be mentioned but ain't we all adults on this site unlike another Hotrod site that I visit occasionally where bad language and name callin is exceptable and the norm.
Yes we are all entitled to our own view of who is or was a great leader, but lets all look at the large picture of what is happening around this world and be thankful that we live where we do, warts and all.
Again Don,I am sorry for my little part in your thread getting a wee bit off track and I hope we sit back, have a laugh at it, and get back to hot rod ribbing ,humor, and encouraging each other.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

No, don't apologize, I actually enjoy it when a thread derails for a little bit and actually do it to myself quite a bit. Every once in a while I throw in a cat or some other diversion just to keep things from getting too boring.
Some of my "updates" are pretty lame on their own............if I put a new bolt on the car I do a new post.
I'm kind of at a standstill right now anyway because the next step before the body goes on is to bend up a new roll bar. That is something I need Dan to help me do because he is very good about measuring things so they come out exactly as they are intended. If I bend it the thing will be too wide or narrow to fit the existing mounts on the frame. I just don't want to take any more of his time right now because he gets so little free time to work on his own car that I want to help him get his finally into primer. The plan right now is for us to work on his this Friday, his day off, and try to get it primed Sunday.

Last night I decided to take the bull by the horns and bend up my roll bar by myself. Dan was working late and I figured how hard could it be to do it by myself, as long as I measured carefully. So I did just that and luckily it came out just the size I needed. I had a chrome roll bar on the car originally but had to cut it off because it rusted on it's mounts from sitting all those years and I couldn't get the body off without removing the roll bar.
Next week I plan a trip to the chrome plater in Lauderdale because Dan has a bunch of stuff like his nerf bars, hinges, etc that need dipped too. It is only a couple hour drive and will save me boxing and shipping the parts to them. I'll take this new roll bar and get it chromed then too.
Now for the big news............tonight Dan and I slipped the body back on the frame!!!!!!!
I couldn't wait to see it in place and I am happy beyond belief at how it came out. I was worried that it would be too much black, but it has enough chrome and polished aluminum to break it up. I love the satin and can't imagine the car any other color.
Here are some pictures, tomorrow I'm pushing it outside for some better shots and to get a look at it in the daylight. I tried talking Dan into pushing me around the block but that didn't fly.

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
