Charlie, he used his Mig. He's gotten very comfortable with the Mig and his logic is that he wants to spend some time practicing with the Tig before he does any work with it. With his time being at a premium any time he gets he tries to make as much progress as he can, so if he spent time playing with the Tig it would take some of that time away. He doesn't know it but he is going to get a whole lot of practice when he builds my cage for me in my Altered.
Although maybe MY ROLLBAR isn't the place to practice welding. 

Kurt, from what I can see in the pictures it looks like you have plenty of ground clearance under there. You shouldn't have any problems IMO.
