Bob,I suppose its because we are way down here in the south pacific,we have been starved of the models you guys take,or,took for granted for so long..The kiwi rodders, started with slim pickings, and I suppose the beginning of it was seen in Popular Mechanics magazines..The first chopped and channeled roadsters and coupes appeared down here about 1957/8,in fact, the blue fenderless 34 roadster in the Kumeu 09 thread was built in the late 50s or very early 60s.Because its so easy now to import a good cruiser from the States,a lot is coming in;as far as the Buicks go,well,as much as I personally like them,I would never own one now, there are nearly as many as 55/6/7 Chevies,,got nothing against them either, but everybody has one...
Dave,if you mean the silver/maroon jobwith the cart wheels, yes, its owned by a car painter with a excellent reputation..There are a couple of hundred more on the NZ hotrod mag site, but I didnt want to put a link to it for fear of upsetting the moderator..Go surfing, you will find it.Enjoy, some more coming in a couple of weeks..This place is turning into a hot bed of activity this time of year, something every week, and event double ups..Gotta go,got work to do.See ya later..Robin.
