    You're not thinking ahead. There's nothing that says you have to put the crossmember in where somebody else says to put it. If you want the truck 2" lower, then position the crossmember 2" higher on the frame when you weld it or bolt it together. If you want the front 4" lower, then position the crossmember 4" higher than the instructions call for. Whatever.
