opinion plz?
my newest acquisition ( 76 nova ) needs rear tail lights buckets.
Problem is the cheapest I have found them is on evilbay for about $50 ea.
Just can't seem to justify $100 for tail light parts on a car I only spent $400.
I am thinking to form some buckets from light cardboard and lay some glass on them. Would it take the heat ( from the bulb ) ok?
Also, it looks like the rear lenses are slightly damaged from bulb heat. Is there a 'correct' bulb to put in these?.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Don't know much about 76 Nova's, mine was a 63 (Chevy II) and a 76 Omega. So I guess I have to ask have you checked you local bone yards? Are NOS parts available from other than Ebay? The fiberglass would probably work. Standard tail/brake bulbs should work fine without heat probelms, but stay away from the newer ultra-brite bulbs as they tend to have more heat.
You might consider LED bulbs, they start at about $10 each, use the standard socket mount, and are low heat output. I run the LED bulbs behind plastic teardrop lenses with no problems on a 39 Ford.Bob
