I would help anybody I can.... My frame of reference is mostly at the race track and many "strangers" have helped me out in my time of need and I do the same where I can...

Sure, that's the way to make new friends........However, after 40 years of "Making new friends"...and finding out, that they only wanted to use you....You get a bit jaded about such things. Don't ask me how I know............
