The 'maro's a bit older are cheap now, I even got stuck with one from a guy who owed me some money, it's and '82... Even this vintage has all the parts available for the LS6 conversion.....

im thinking a 98 camaro is what i want to buy but what would be the best engine to put in it
and with what engine what parts would i need
Hey Nick,
Welome to the forum!
Why dont you track down a 98 camaro with the V8 already in it? With all of the things you would have to do to swap out the stock v6 it makes more sense to buy a Camaro with the v8 already in it. (Gm made thousands of v8 camaros) If you did find a v6 camaro cheap you could do the swap, but you would need motor mounts, engine wiring harness, v8 engine, transmission, rearend, possibly gauges, etc. It makes for a tough project trying to find it all (unles you find a wrecked v8 donor car) The Camaro makes for a neat street car with instant respect with its heritage and name. I can't argue with the Corvette either as I have a 2004 ZO6 Corvette. Even in the used market the 30 to 40 thousand dollar price tag is steep.
I agree with the Chevy in a Ford thing. to each their own and I like all makes of cars, but I get disappointed personally when I see a Ford with a Chevie, etc (just my personal taste)
In the end do what makes you happy.
I like the 460 big block Mustang idea!:):):)
Hey Nick, I have a really wild 'maro in the garage now that I'm building!!!! Take a look, heck you might as well have something totally unique!!!! Some pics in my gallery if you're interested....
nice i will deff look for a v8 camaro but whats an ls7 motor
Yeah, well we go for quality, not quantity..... Most everybody puts a chebbie in the cars you mention because well,,,,, most everybody else does..... Around here we call that monkey see, monkey do.... I mean, just how many more black coupes and red roadsters with a 350/350 can you really stand to look at????? geez....
