ford model a fordor cowl
hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone would know if Ford ever made a 4 door model A that had a cowl that looked like the cowl on a '28 or '29 model a tudor?
If so can what year.
From what i can see it looks like the fordor had the same cowl as the '31 tudor all the way through.
If anyone has a picture i would be greatful.
If this doesn't exist then how hard would it be to modify a fordor (4 door) with a '28- '29 cowl.

The Fordors were either made by Briggs or Murray, and both had cowls that looked like the 30-31 cowl, sort of. The Murray was stretched a little more than the Briggs in the cowl area. I guess you could graft on a Tudor cowl, but getting the windshield and door jams to flow would be a little tough IMO.
Oh, and welcome to the forum.

From the pictures I saw, they do look like they're all the same. As far as swapping a 28-29 cowl, measure the width, height etc. between the 2. Plus the shape(top to bottom). I know my 30 Briggs body Fordor is more narrrow at the bottom than a tudor is. So yeah I'd say it's possible, you just might have a whole lot of work to do.

The 4 door still has the regular 28-29 gas tank inside of it, rather a chore to remove too. Also didn't the Cabriolet use the 4 door cowl?
I used a 4 door cowl on my roadster pickup build, not much left to recognize of it tho.lol
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
