    Exclamation Boydd Coddington's new show

Discover Channel's new show American HotRod starts tonight @ 10:00 PM
Suppose to be in the OCC type mode, people hollering at each other as they make nice rides.

The eppisod on tonight or there "Priemer" was aired a few months ago and its nothing like American chopper!!!
This show sucks bad!! Boyd C. is not a jerk hes a morron.
Paul SR on OCC is a jerk so hes cool.

The scene in American hotrod that made me turn the tv off goes as follow
Boyd "Ya know some times the guys lose sight and get burned out, so to bring up moral I let them WATCH me drive one of the cars they built."

Come on man he wont even let the wrenches drive the cars they lost weekends with familys to build for him.

gotta go with ljotto1 on this one. Boyd is a di*k. treated a lot of customers poorly in the past. just can't bring myself to watch him. just my 2 cents. I could be wrong.

I watched the show that ljotto watched and Boyd was in fact a dick. He's not cool, he's just a cranky old bastard who lets his EX-WIFE run his business for him. What a tool (and I don't mean a crescent wrench).

I didnt think I leard a thing from the show other than not to order a glass body from over seas while on a time table. his car was behind scheduel, his body got locked up in customs for 3 weeks so he took it out on the guys.

I saw it last night. He is a dick! The guys in the shop worked some majot hours and not a single one got an attaboy!
They did get a day driving go carts..Wonder what the Christmas bonus was? And what's with the burn out? He pumps up his people by burning rubber? Wonder how many of those he does a week as a motivational moment?
I really didn't see him doing much of anything except riding his scooters and bitchin at people. He's got a very nice "compound" of shops, can you imagine how many cars he has to crank out a month to pay for all of that?

I hope the shop foreman pooted in the seat of that car, Boyd driving the thing and him riding, hell he put in the time on the thing and all he got was a ride?
Also, the kid that was doing his CAD work talked a bit strang and also looked a bit wierd but I would buy him a beer! Seemed one of the "real" people there.

    Cool

I just cought my first show of "American Hot Rod". Being a truck driver, I may be behind the curve on watching from day 1.
Anyway, I liked the show and my wife did as well.
Glad to see there wasn't as much bickering on it like OCC. I did find it interesting that Boyds wife is a younger woman and his EX wife runs the books for the business. Some future tension there for the producers I bet!
Like I said, I liked the show and his crew know who the "boss" is.

I watched just the last half of the show(after seeing this post). I don't know all that much about Boyd C. other than seeing some of his cars they build. I did like the show but as some mentioned, not enuf "show me how to" and to much show off, still not all that bad. I actually got more of a kick out of the show that was on after American HotRod. It was all about kart racing with a bunch of kids pushing the limits on the track. What was really neat is the whole family was involved in the sport.
