Grundy told me they wouldn't insure an unfinished car, Hagarty does, they even insure an inventory of parts that aren't associated to any car on the policy. You might want to verify if Grundy still has that policy.Quote:

I asked my agent if he would research other companies and he found Grundy to be half the premium cost of C&S with much better coverage. I specifically requested the details of their coverage as it would have related to the Mustang damage and was very impressed by both their committment to claim reconciliation and there concept of "usage". They have a very broad consideration of where a person might want to drive their car, whereas C&S had very tight restrictions.
Right now my vote is for Grundy.
John
I researched most of them and found none that had the coverage and prices that Grundy had.
My vote Grundy.
Thanks again guys! I thought I would get some informed advise here. :-)
Thanks for the additional info - I got a quote from both Grundy and Hagerty this morning based on $50K (which is about 90% of what I have in the car). Grundy is $315, Hagerty is $692. A heluva difference for about the same coverage.
How does payment work with Grundy? Do you pay yearly, monthly etc......
I also have Grundy, a little over $300 for $42k agreed value and $500k single limit liability. They also cover spare parts that I might have for the car. Fortunately no claims so far, but their reputation is good as far as I know. No mileage limit, have to demonstrate I have other cars for daily drivers. I pay annually.
Pat
Also just noticed on Grundy's page that you can insure your daily driver with them. Does anyone insure their daily driver? I currently pay my insurance monthly so that I don't have to save or come up with all of the money all at once. It just makes it easier in my opinion.
Send them an email:info@grundy.comQuote:

I pay my other policies from AMICA - home, car, camper and umbrella monthly
I have Grundy on the Deuce. Been with them for about 8 years.
I pay about $530 for 88k w/ professional appraisal. After a certain dollar amount- an appraisal is required.
Had a big claim w/ them (over 20k) & they couldn't have been more helpful or understanding.
I used their web site( www.grundy.com ) to purchase mine. They offer free quotes, etc. They walk you through the process as to what is required of you, etc. I pay annually.

My Son has Hagerty on his T bucket, and they only wanted pictures of it and the garage where it is kept, and a few other minor items. They then asked him what it was worth and the policy was written up at that figure. He said he can also go back and renegotiate it if he makes any changes that up the value. I think he said it was something like $ 300 or thereabouts a year.
Hagerty is a great company but they are pricey. I had them for several years and they were very good, but their cost to insure my two cars was nearly twice the price of Grundy for the same coverage. By the way, the agreed value coverage on my 57 Olds and the 34 Plymouth from Grundy is about $280 per year.
Ken wrote:Ken, Hagerty is quick to settle your claim and they do everything they can to make sure you are satisfied. I had a small claim when with them and know others who had larger ones. No complaints.Quote:
I use Hagerty also, anyone have any experience on a claim with them? I hope I never do, but just wondering.
One thing about Hagerty though, they will not insure any Cobra replica's I don't know why, but they will not.
I've been following all the postings here and thought I'd call Grundy for a quote. I gave him the specs on my truck, and ball parked the finished value to 22k. He quoted me 339.00 a year. I told him that was high compared to what others were paying to them for the same or better coverage. He told me if I up'd the value on the truck, then the premium would go down! :HMMM:
well hell?? **) the deal is you can get insurance poor fast hagerty told me they needed 1000. took all summer to get that up:( in one shot:eek: well hoping for a warm fall so i still get them out before the snow flys and may look at grundy next yearQuote:
