Hey Tim did you change the chassis, I was thinking of the S10 frame with a 383 or something and this kit:

Sorry don't mean to jack but I thought it might help you as well.

I think the price is fair. I am usually the first one to goad someone into taking a sawzall to something but I think an original surviver like that should be left alone and not modified. There is plenty of hotrod fodder around.
Those are actually quite a pleasure to drive in stock form, unless you have a lot of metro and then I think the brakes would be a little lacking for today.

I agree with Willowbilly3
It is in such pristine shape, that any chopping would be ashame for the purist out there, it is a heck of a find. You could alwys do an engine swap, but keep the originals if you want to resell it, and upgrade the brakes like stated above for safety sake!"

hey sean, when i redid mine, we took 4 or 5 leafs out of the rear, and slapped in a 10 bolt, and we just had an old el camino sitting around, so we used the subframe for that! a little heating , and a lot of measuring, and we got it all fit in there. the stock s-10 frame ride height is a little bit taller than mine is, but im still going to get some drop springs and shocks, and do a flip kit in the rear. Another nice thing about the frame i found, is that the engine sits down in there pretty low, so, for some... thats just an excuse to put a big ol' blower under the hood!!!

First, in response to this thread.....I think 4k is a great price if you are going to restore it. But thats a pretty hefty starting price if your gonna make a rod outta it......

Hey Ed. Nice to see you again here. Post some pictures. I know what you mean about losing help! I had a neighbor, that was always there to help lend a hand or carry something, when he moved to NY 3 years ago the whole neighborhood changed. All my friends are out of state now, so I rely on a semi retired neighbor, who has two homes, and gets back here once or twice a month. I always buy a good lunch for help with stuff like engine pulling!
Hopefully your son didn't move too far away.

My boy is about 70 miles away when his new wife graduates college they will move closer, he just bought a new used dodge diesel like mine and has been over every week end working on the small details. Can't find a much better boy/man but he has his own life to live, but part of his life is working on these projects. Next year when the grandchild is walking he starts working with me. Got to move on and change and adjust to the new situations but it is all fun. ED1949 Ford F1 stocker, V8 flatty
