More Progress on the Thames ....
Things are really beginning to rock and roll now ..................
The floor and transmission tunnel have bee permanently welded in place
The firewall has had three beadrolls pressed and has been welded into place
The seats have been positioned and are sitting on their attachment brackets, the Hurst shifter has been positioned
The rear floor has been fabricated and is tacked into place
The wheel tubs have been completed and have been permanently welded into place
He's beginning to look a little like a car again

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
