Don, about 10 years ago I had the opportunity to buy a 1940 Mercury covertible for $17.5k I wanted to resto-rod the car, but a family member who owned several old cars and streetrods told my wife not to buy it, because of the high cost of conversion. She regrets the decision not to buy it even more than I did/do. She really loved it. It only had 67k original miles on it and was in good running condition. When I decided to buy it any way, it had been sold to a collector for a museum. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to hesitate or listen to others.
