    Its been set at -3 for about 3 years. The guy who changed the cam and installed the motor this time says he left it there because he thought that they guy who initialy built the motor did that so i will be able to run on 87 octane if i wanted to. What do u think about that?

    First your Balancer may-be spun . The timing should be 10-12 BTDC . Also that camshaft is way wrong for a SB Chevy with stock type heads and L/C . Next if you had to run a camshaft like that in that big car ? The best thing you could do is advance it 4+ degrees and run Variable Duration Lifters . Best thing to do is pull that 350 put it on an engine stand and start over

    Why do u seem to think the balancer may be spun?

    Also the cam is LUN-60102LK Duration 262/268, Lift .468/.489 Sorry about the wrong info at first!

    BECAUSE IF YOUR TIMING WAS REALLY AT -3 DEG . YOUR ENGINE WOULD RUN REAL BAD

    like DennyW said -3 is where thecam gear is instead of straight up.

    That would make that 350 run even worse ! Like Dave said . And what # heads are on it ? Do you want to get your engine to run right ?
