What emergency stuff do you carry?

If I am going on a long trip I usually carry a tool box with all of the popular wrenches, set of screw drivers, allen sockets, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 ratchets and sockets, needle nose pliers, channel lock pliers and standard plyers, hammer, wire strippers, wire, butt and other wiring connectors, electrical tape, duct tape, wire ties, 1/2 & 3/8 " torque wrenches, aluminum racing jack, tire repair kit, flashlight, and assorted other necessities. And last but not least, my cell phone and charger, my Fellow pages and my AAA card.

On lesser trips, I take just the last three items. :3dSMILE:

sure wish i could take mine on a long trip! but 4:88's and a 4500 stall sure dont like the highway :eek:

And you will always be missing that one critical tool you will need for the roadside repair.

One thing I've added to my emergency box is a small sissor jack that I bought at the Pomona Swap Meet. It's an O.E. aluminum jack out of a some year (?) late model Porsche. Very small, light in weight, and well made. Just low enough for my dropped front axle and goes high enough to reach the four bar bracket on my rear axle. Jumper cables should be "a must have" item.

How about a pair of stubbie screw drivers? I have a very small slime tire kit, made for motorcycle riders. Harbor freight sells them. It has a small 12volt air compressor and a bottle of tire slime plug repair. Also maybe a pair of jumper cables, you could make your son wear these as jewelry. I thought you Guy's decided not to go, what changed your minds?
It wouldn't hurt to have some security device and maybe a breaker bar. A laser pointer from the safey of the hotel room would unnerve most thieves when it shows up on their forhead in the middle of the night! Have fun and take a lot of pictures!

Well, as usual, I went off half cocked and later changed my mind. :o I was trying to get an answer about being able to transfer a registration I wanted to buy from another member and wasn't getting any answers. Come to find out I was asking the wrong people, the local club is only hosting the event, the decision makers are at Billetproof.com. I spoke to Alan at BP the other day and he could not have been nicer and is taking care of the re-registration for me.

Plus, when I proposed to Dan that he and I go to Daytona instead he flatly refused. He filled me in on what kind of cars will be at BP (the kind we like, oldtimey stuff) so that cinched the deal. It is also a shorter drive by about 2 hours each way.

If you remember the character "Roseanne Roseannadanna" that Gilda Radner played on Saturday Night Live, she would go into this rant about something and then when Jane Curtain would correct her she would say "Oh!! Nevermind!!" That is kinda me........I blow up about something and rant for a little bit, then when I cool off I realize I was wrong.

It depends -

Family car/truck - not a lot since so much now needs a special tool - jumpers, pair of pliers, small crescent, couple of screwdrivers, flat fix in a can. My truck does get one special tool though - a nice l-o-o-n-n-g breaker bar and impact socket to remove and reinstall those 8 lugs per wheel at 150 foot pounds:whacked:

Rod - it gets a minor tool kit, possibly only enough to do a 9" diff change out, valve job or bearings:LOL: :LOL:
