Send him down the road to one of the shops in the area ,that turns out high end work ,like your stuff and I bet he sees the light......have him get 3 different estimates like a insurance company does........in my mind 7 grand would about cover the engine ,tranny and rear end....unless he wants a stock 302 in there.....
