Hi all, kinda new here. I own a 1984 vette w/ crossfire injection. Thought about removing the crossfire and building it up, but decided it was too nice a car to mess with...50k miles, garaged, 28mpg!!! Anyway, my cousin gave me his 350 out of his 72 pickup because I told him I wanted to take it apart and rebuild it. Never done this before, but this will be my summer project. I really want to do it just to learn!!! I've been looking around for an apprenticeship, but no luck so far.

So for now, I guess I'm just dreaming a little and considering my options. I will build this 350, and I'll probably buy a kit for parts instead of trying to match things up correctly. I'm just shopping around right now for parts, trying to land a good deal. Anyone have a good deal?

My real qustion is this: what the heck should I put this 350 in? It aint gunna be my vette. I need some kinda roller to take this engine, and I'm looking to be creative, without spending more than 3 grand on the roller. I have a 1970 Porsche 911 t and its valve rings are shot, so it smokes a lot...although it has a lot of work to be done on the interior (but its do-able), and I've reasearched on chevy v8 conversions.

Lots of people have done it in these old Porsches, and big names like Rennegade and John's Cars sell the parts needed. Only problem is cooling, but that's another post for another forum. So guys I guess shoot with any ideas you might have. Maybe an old truck? I saw an old '49 chevy slantback for sale today, and the sixbanger is shot. It was pretty badass lookin! A little too expensive though, b/c there's been a lot of love put into this car.

Hey thanks guys for any suggestions. I'm looking for something creative yet inexpensive, although I usually end up dumping my paychecks into my rides...
