Hehe your "Brother HAMBER from Florida" is all gassed up and ready to come to Atlanta whenever you give me the word. I may have scored a body to use too Paul, Dan has decided to order a Brookville body for his RPU so I get the old one. That changes the direction I WAS going to go, but in a good way.

I can't wait to see your '46 in person, the body and all the sheet metal is just so clean. Gotta love those Kansas cars.

From the sounds of your incoming parts list, you are doing this one right.

    Hey signman,

I probably paid more than I should have but the body is jam up......and the $$ I save of body (re)construction will enable me to spend that $$ elsewere.

ITYS - I hesitate posting any of my "untraditional" direction on the HAMB....right now. As it goes back together they'll see that I'm only making the car safer to operate on a daily basis not ruin the traditional look.

    We shall see!!!

Don't hold your breath on that HAMB thing Paul. A few of the diehards feel anything but a straight axle is akin to taking pot shots at the Pope. And then there is that sbc!

Not everyone there shares that opinion, but there are a few who do. Don't sweat it though, all of us on here and RRR will still love it.

Ya.....I smell what your stepping in.... great place for info...... a few folks a bit overbaord with the "traditional vs. non-traditional" stuff.

I like building them & having fun with that build.

As for the sbc......that's what I got. I don't see them bitchen if it has early vette covers, a tach drive distrbr. & a generator...Haha....

Mini starters, 8mm wires, electric waterpump drives.....HA....them is hanging words.

I really don't care what others think..... if they want it with a flattie in it - make me an offer to purchase the car!!

Well....... after Don from donsrods aka/ itoldyouso came up to atlanta to pick up my cast off (but good) parts I am able NOW to put the build into the next gear....

A few weekends ago I removed the complete front & rear suspensions...

This weekend I removed what was left......the steering system, the clutch, brake & master cylinder & a few original lines.

Next week will see the rear floor removed along with the rear spring cross member.

I'm going to remove the center X member & replace it with some new crossmembers that'll stiffen up the chassis & function as the 4 link front crossmember along with a trans member & possibly a driveshaft loop set up.

The last pic is of some of my "stash" I've been collecting for this car. Yes that is a turbo & wastegate.

Here are some pix of the underside of the car along with the clean front end section:

Well, if you don't like that choice it is easy to remedy. Just send Paul in Atlanta a very large check and he will build YOUR car the way YOU want it done. But until that happens, this car is pretty much his call.

    Hello Guys,

Work & a month long kidney stone has slowed progress.

I have finalized wheels, dodge 20" truck spares, so I've actually solidified my "plan".

I going to stay with the pro-touring style, at least my personal interpretation, just a bit lower. I was torn & drifting towards the Pro Street style ... again but having had three PS cars in the past I figured it'd be a change to go back to the PT look - again. I did run a '68 camaro gtu car on the street back in the mid '80's that we dubbed "The Sponge".

One day I'll get my slides & pix converted to digital discs & post them.

I've sent the chassis builder some pix of the frame skeliton I want to build along with the rear frame "kick" up I want. I'll end up mini tubbing the rear as a 275 of 295 series hop will be used. I may weld up the wholes in the wheels but that's down the road.

I've actually been working on my '87 crew cab dually so it can be sold for some extra jingle for the coupe.

So .... although I've not ready cut any additional metal from the original frame/car It is slight progress.

If everything goes as planned I might .... might have it at a driving stage for 2K11's TRR - maybee.

Thanks for asking & if I get more "stuff" I'll post some addt'l pix.

    Front X member removed:

    Frame center X removed:

A little more to trim/remove for the new center frame:

    My crew that's almost completed:

    Keep kewl guys.

    Paul

Ouch on the kidney stone, I hear those are no fun. Glad to see you making progress again, Paul. Is the car still at the same race car shop it was when I visited? They build some awesome stuff there.

Great to hear you have made some progress! That dually looks cool too.

That body on the coupe could not be much more solid. super nice.

Sorry to hear about the health issue. Get well. Don Jr

Thanks guys. I appreciate the concern.

Sorry about the stall .... the year end was over the top at work, then vacation, then on the 10th of Jan. the stone showed.

Yes Don the car is still at the race car shop which I'll change when the good weather hits. I just need to make it a roller & then return it to my garage for weekly updates. It's just a bit to far to drive during the week.

Now I'm feel'n great (for the past 3 days anyway) right now & will be ordering the wheels so I can set front & rear track width & wheel base.

I've soul searched and the pro street is out & function over form will prevail!!

    Again ... thanks guys.

    Paul

I've dug them since I had a '46 ford truck in high school in the mid 70's .... then I was gassed when Fat Jack drove his down the race track ...

I figured this was the best of both or actually all worlds. It even has a back seat!
