My uncle had the same problem "with slosh " on his fancy little dune buggy, We ended up building "something like this"

The red is the holes We drilled in it and saddles in the bottom. We cut a flap in the back to get this monstrosity in. Mounted it as low as we could, then had it all put back together.

Now its polished & what little of it you can see "in the back" its not noticeable. "hope that helps?"

also he used steel straps to hold it down, And put wide leather belts w/ buckles over them " looks pretty cool "
