    Turbo 4.1 EFI Aussie Fairmont

Has anyone turbocharged an XE,XF Fairmont efi motor. Whats a sensible turbo, boost pressure, internal mods and stuff like that. Exhaust power has never been something I would never consider for a an Aussie taxi, but after downloading a few 1/4 mile vids of barely modified street cars running sub 11's, i'm ears open.

    Cheers dudes

Well if the 4.1 efi motor is the same as the ford 250 six then electronically fuel injected or not it could be turbocharged. Usually you can go up to 6lbs of boost pressure without any internal mods. If your turbo is to large you can just drill it and install an after market waste gas gauge and valve. Of course youll have to fabricate your own headers and intake pipe.

    G'day,

Yeah, there's been a few guys around who've t'boed the Alloy headed 6, those throttle boddies flow quite impressive numbers from factory, A while ago there was a t'boed XF? in Streetmachine Magazine,

As for mods, the usual will certainly help, like balancing the crank, lightening it all, dropping the comp ratio, and a "good" port job will certianly help. I've heard of 10 psi + being stuffed into 'em

They're a big torquey engine, but they can go real hard (for a 6)
A couple of mates have played with them in non t'bo cars....
