Today i played with serpentine a bit. Alt. mount will fit fine under hood with some slight grind on bracket. The a/c will be a bit more involved . The journey to be able to drive in any weather Chicago can give , heat and a/c is a must .

The left side brkt which holds original power steering and a/c will have to be cut a lot . First pic showing brkt as a whole and second shows what is left . I first cut off the section i need that holds the a/c compressor which is located all the way at the bottom .

Then taking out a section at the top and roughly holding compressor up till i had a idea where to cut. I think i read where a compressor can't be reangled due to design and oil issues. So up top i cut a bit to stand a/c mount section in its original mount angle . A little more cutting but close is getting there . Fabbing one in steel probably is alot faster but the aluminum look i do like . Some more trimming and i think the idea will be belted really soon .

Issue with redoing the belt guide will be later when i have a/c in postion and welded up.

Took bracket to work had it tacked for fit . Over half a inch clearence to the hood so as some say close enough . One thing id hoped is the belt would just clear but no chance . I will have to get a smaller pulley or cut it off and reposition it about a inch higher so belt don't interfer with itself . Now to go to work on bracket and make it look like it was made this way . Some fill in panels and gussets and it will look great . Well beauty is in the eyes of the beholder any way.
