Don't leave us just yet Jim, your threads are excellent and instructive. Hopefully Brent will sort this out.
I'm not going anywhere yet, Steve, but I hope Brent can sort this out. I can even re-post all the photos in the appropriate places if necessary, but is it worth the effort?:HMMM: I'm just waiting to see what happens. I'm sure this is horribly frustrating for Brent, too, when something like this happens.:whacked:
Good to hear Jim. Hope it all gets sorted out soon.
I have tried to re-upload the pictures to this thread using the "Edit" button at the bottom of my posts, but it won't work. The "Manage Attachments" feature opens and says it uploads the pics OK, but they won't show up. Anybody know how to fix this problem?
GREAT BIG "THANK YOU" TO BRENT!!! All my pictures have magically reappeared! Brent, I don't know what you did because I'm a computer dummy, but thank you a lot! Hooray!!:D:D:D
I finally got around to doing the lettering and numbers on the roadster. I vacillated about it for a while; my wife said leave it alone and my son said do it. I have my own plotter-cutter, so I finally decided I had nothing to lose but a little time and a few feet of sign vinyl. I found some engine-turned gold vinyl online that closely replicates swirl-finished gold leaf that was popular on old race cars... Well, I think it was the finishing touch that the car needed. Now that it's done my wife likes it after all. Some day, when I find a sign painter who can do the real thing, I'll peel the vinyl and have it done in real gold leaf and paint.:D
Close-up of the lettering & numbers.:3dSMILE:
Jim, that works well with the overall refinish scheme........good job!
Personally I'd leave it in vinyl for future flexibility.....
Thank you, Bob.
I'll wait and see how it holds up in the Florida sun. If I keep having to replace it every year I may push for getting it done in the real stuff. If this vinyl holds up OK it will probably be there for quite a while...
That looks awesome! Great work on it!
I think it looks fantastic! It really does bring it all together.
Ditto I think it looks excellent as well.
I am really diggin your T. Thanks for sharing.
