Built from mostly 3/4x3/4x.125 angle, .0625x3/4 cold roll and a piece of 1/8x1.5 flat stock. I also used a 6" Stanley hinge and a couple of pieces of 1/8 neoprene for vibration resistance, tho not as yet glued in place. The front 'latch' (hinge) has a piece of oak as well for a spacer - this still needs a wee bit of work, but is about as it will be when finished. I also tacked three nuts to attach the cover, which is yet to be made

I'll extend the bottom with another piece of steel for my latching solenoid mount which will be used to disconnect the battery. I'll eventually add that photo too.

Fun project. Total build time 2-3 hours with a couple cuppas.

And they will probably not be in the correct order
Nice work, Dave! You made good use of that hinge... Where did you say you're going to mount that? in the trunk? If I go with my plan to mount mine on the frame rail under the front passenger fender, I'll probably want to enclose the battery in a box of some kind to protect it from road rash & the elements. Perhaps I'll borrow some of your ideas when I get to that point....
