A lot of times those springs also don't exactly center the rear wheel in the wheel well on 37 & 38 Fords. Chassis Engineering Inc has a 1.5" lowering block kit that give up to 3/4" adjustment for the rear end to center the wheels. I'm going to get that kit because my wheels need to move forward 5/8 to 3/4". It'll be hard to tell if you need it till you put the rear fenders on.
I have 2" drop spindles on the front of mine, too.
The car is looking good. Glad to see he's making progress.
