................. If your serious about the van seat - I know a guy in town here who has one that's probably never even been sat upon. He had the seat removed so they could convert the van to a rear load handicap rig for his daughter. If your interested I can ask if he'd like to sell it.?.?. I know it's not going back into the van.

Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday but the campground that we are at for a seasonal site has a WIFI that has 'occasional' signal problems.

If that seat is no more then 40 inches or so wide and not too expensive, yes, I'm interested and will come to MA asap to pick up.

Mike - I believe 41"-42" is my magic number for width

Congrats on the birthday present. I believe that it's a couple of sizes bigger then mine - and I'm jealous. Is it already set for gas or do you need to add the bottle and the mod?? Is it still a 120VAC or 220?

10-4 on the 41 - 42 inches.
The welder is setup for regular gas mig and also capable of the flux core wire. It is 220 volt single phase and is rated up to 3/16" thickness in a single pass. I was also thinking of ordering the spool gun so I could do aluminum. Just not sure if it's worthwhile. I don't even remember the last time I wanted to weld on aluminum.

Not sure I like spool guns - they never seemed balanced the couple of times I tried them and they are difficult to get in tight spaces. Great for straight line welding tho.

What the heck, get it and if you need it, you got it and just think it only cost a 'few' bucks

HMMmmm.. You're pretty free with my money!

Here's what I found with the seat. At the arm rests, 46 inches. If you can remove'em then it looks like 44 inches. If you remove the plastic trim around the bottom then it appears to get smaller still, although I can't say by how much. I didn't want to remove the trim without permission.

Well that Mopar seat is a good fit but not quite a drop-in. I had to saw off the legs and put rubber caps from Ace hardware on the sawed-off tips and then the seat covering may have a little slack and you need to re-hog-clip the cover to the springs on the bottom. In my case I added 1" angle iron brackets on the bottom drilled for a single long 1/2" steel bolt down through the frame rails on each side; not difficult but not exactly a drop-in since the legs are too high for the desired roadster seat height. Still I really enjoy knowing I got that gorgeous velour for $15!
