Don , I order you to take a least one day this weekend and rest. Have a cookout with your family and relax. Thats what I'm going to do, then I got to replace the back door on my sisters house. She, BBQ and gives me free food to replace her door.

Don, I know I haven't been here bugging you. I figured you'd have the car done by now. Your boys truck is realy coming along. Realy like your colors they look great together can't wait till finish photos get here. I took on a few little jobs for some old customers and its been eating up all my time. Talk about DUMB I was cutting a stump from an old tree out while kneeling down to get it close to the ground. Yep chain saws cut meat quicker than wood. Got it just above the knee 27 stitches later I finished the job. I just knew duct tape wasn't going to get it done. Anyway keep up the good work. Ain't retirement COOL

Brad: Well, everybody is going to be away, so it would be a small cookout. Don is off camping, and Dan has lined up some playing gigs, so it is just me and the cats. I don't mind though, the shop parking lot should be pretty empty with the holiday and all, so I can drag out some stuff to paint. I've been pacing myself pretty well, just working from the afternoons to late at night when it's nice and cool.

Charlie: I've been wondering where you have been. Did the chainsaw thing just happen recently? Sorry to hear about that. There is another tool that was designed to remove stuff quickly, be it wooden or human. Yeah, I am enjoying this "retirement" thing. In fact, I am considering officially doing that in July when I turn 62. I still want to work at something though, I feel sort of not driven anymore, and I like working, so maybe part time or something. Dan and I will be moving to another Condo in about 3 weeks, so that will take some time, getting settled there and all, so I do have things to keep me out of trouble.

That's interesting Bob. I didn't realize the '49-51 hubcap snapped on the outside of the little bumps. Glad I have the earlier ones, as those are the hubcaps I plan on running.

BTW, there is a company that makes a hubcap adapter so that you can run '35 style small hubcaps on these wheels, and I am considering doing that. Gives it a little different look, and you paint the adapter wheel color.

    Thanks for that picture Bob.

In reply to one of your earlier post about paint color.. There are 3 things that will effect your finish color other than a wrong mix.. Tempreature Humidity and Air presure at gun.. If any of those atre different you can get a different shade in the finish. Thats why any time I paint a car it gets done all at once. Other than the jambs they get done maybe a day earlier. I used Glassarut on my 38 and they said to mask off where you want the pin-stripe 30 mim. after you shoot the last color coat then shoot the stripe. Man I was real cautious removing that tape. Nothing happened then we put on the clear it all just melted together you couldn't tell they weren't both put on at the same time. Keep up the good work I read alot but don't take the time to yack.

I had a set of the '49-51's on my '36 Coupe with the plain dog dish caps and I don't remember which year they were plain. The rears were reversed with Buick or Olds rims since they were a tad bit wider. Uncle Bob could probably tell for sure since I'm by no means an authority on those type of things.
