If I can hijack the kitty thread . . .
Later on, I'll post a photo of how I did the panel in my '34. I mounted my panel on a piece of birch plywood from the hobby shop, and put 4 strips of high-strength velcro on the back, and 4 matching strips on the firewall. With a little extra loop in the wiring, I can pull it loose and drop it down where I can see it.Jack

The move took longer than we thought, been living out of boxes for the past couple of days. Then our Comcast internet wasn't working. Had to get them on the phone last night to get it resolved. Finally got my computer put back together a few minutes ago.
All we have to do is a little last cleanup on the old place and we are done there. I worked until 12 last night scrubbing stuff, and only have one room left to do and we are finished. I hate moving.
Just a quick kitten update...................Lucky is going to stay with us.We were worried how the other two cats would accept him , especially Chewy the male cat, but they have actually become best friends. Chewy is a typical young Tomcat, full of energy and always wanting to wrestle, but Lucky isn't afraid of him, and they play all day. In fact, he has pretty much adopted the kitten, and you never see one without the other.
We took Lucky to the vet the other night to have him checked out to make sure he had no problems, and he was 100 percent fine. They also told me he is a male cat...........so I guess I shouldn't be looking for a job as a cat checker any time soon. He fits right in here, and I am glad we are keeping him.
Today I hope to get some time at the shop working on the body, and next week I am going to order my starter and final parts so that I can fire the engine.
BTW, I'm really sorry to see what happened to the '57 Plymouth in Tulsa. They should have put it in an above ground crypt.
Here are some shots of Chewy and Lucky playing in our moving mess.

Glad you gave the little guy a "pardon".
Just got back from the SoCal trip, will post pics later....................I think we had more fun than moving!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Bob, I took to heart the post you did about how pets come into our lives, and you were right. I'm glad Dan made the decision to keep him, and I have to admit I sort of encouraged him to do that. We just couldn't see this little survivor go to an uncertain future. At least here he has a good home and other cats to live with. The male cat was pretty bored before he came here, and now he has a buddy to play with, which they do about 23 hours a day.

Don, I was saving this for the next time your "girlfriend's" pictures came up. Now I think you need it as a test.I hope it does not offend the fine people from Washington as it is obvious that they like grung in more than their music.

I know what you mean Brian. This gives the term "getting off track" a whole new meaning.
I swear, tomorrow there will be car pictures and progress. I better do something before the Government intercedes and shuts it down.(or at least a Moderator)

Today , for the first time in a few weeks, I got a chance to actually do some work on the T.Moving is all done, so I should be able to hit on it pretty hard from now on.
Although I have some stuff to do to the chassis, like brake lines, fuel lines, battery cables, etc., I want to take a break from the mechanical end and do the body. I think it will be a nice break, and also give me some renewed enthusiasm if I see the body getting into primer, then paint. I am almost done inside the cockpit, but the underside of the body has yet to be touched, so that is what I am concentrating on now.
It is simply raw plywood now, and I am going to encapsulate it in one or two layers of fiberglass mat. This will waterproof the underside, give me a more finished surface under there, and add a lot of strength and vibration resistance to the lower part of the body and floor. I started off by using an air saw to trim the plywood more closely to the shape of the underside of the tunnel. There were some edges hanging over, and after I cut them off, I used a body grinder with a 24 grit to shape the plywood to the edge of the tunnel. I also rounded the edges of the plywood (rolled them over) so that the mat will not have to make sharp corners. Fiberglass does not like to turn sharply, and air voids can develop. If you take the mat around a smooth, round corner, it will adhere better.
Here is a picture of the floor after the grinding.

You'll notice in the picture above that most of the rear section of the body has been cut out to fit down over my frame kickup. This created a wooden "pocket" that will need to be glassed over and smoothed. No wood will be visable once I lay fiberglass mat over it all, then lay on a thin coating of filler, before painting the body.
To get the edges of this pocket ready for mat, I squeegy'd in some body filler to create a backing for the mat. This will give me a wall that will allow the mat to lay straighter and conform to the pocket better. Tomorrow I will grind all of the filler to shape it, then start to lay up mat inside the pocket.
While the underside of the body doesn't have to be as perfect as the outside of the body, I still want it to be pretty good. I am going to roll bedliner over the entire underside, but the pocket will probably be gloss black just like the rest of the body.
Here is a picture of the pocket with some filler in place.
