    newbie question...

hi guys, go easy on me. i've been lurking for awhile and this is my first post. i'm 16 and love rodz.

    anyway... here's my stupid question.

How do lake pipes work? are they just for show? I've seen these "lake" pipes under the doors of some rodz and they have a flat cap over them. How does the exhaust flow w/ a cap on it?

    curious.

    thanks!

No such thing as a stupid question. Anyway, if the lake pipes are hooked up (a lot of them are just for show) they hook into the normal exhaust a head of the mufflers. With the caps on they don't flow. The idea is to take the caps off and do away with backpressure when racing, etc. Now adays the high performance muffler flows as good as open exhaust so must lake pipes you see aren't even hooked into the exhaust.
