Firts of all I would like to state this
it turns out it is in fact a ford 8" When I look it's kinda ovel with two dimples and the fill plug is on the driver side. as far as buget goes I can get a trade in for the wife and kids, but I will try and start with the savings first. 
and thanks to John I now have a new desktop background for work and a great conversational peice.
