    Wood Engine

I finally got a picture to down load but its not to clear but it will work. For all of you fans of flat heads engines this is not for real! The heads are machined out of wood and the spark plugs and wire are not real, the blower is not real but it still runs. It really a 350 chevy under all that wood work-cool.
Restoration is the only way! But hot rods are cool also!

Seems to me that would have real heat issues with all that wood. but it still looks cool.

Hey JIPJOB, the rest of the car was pretty cool too.....
It looks like you were taking a pic of that car the same time I was there shooting. These ware shot in July the 2004 Good Guys Car Show in Puyallup, Washington.

I saw this car at the Goodguys Nationals in Pleasanton, Ca this year. It's pretty bizarre. The whole car is wood, body, top, everything. It had quite a crowd around it. The blower is hollow and has a carburetor inside. The owner carved all of it by hand. The guy really gets excited showing it off...maybe because he has a 'woodie'?

    Woodie Car

Your pictures look alot better than mine! No I didn't see myself in the background but that car is so different. I was really fooled when I first looked at it. I thought he had a metal plate inbetween the heads and the block, so that it could run. This guy really thought this one out! And I thought he should have got some kind of big prize for all his work. Well back to the old 42 and bleeding brakes. You guys probably wonder why I like to restore old rigs and that is I just enjoy the old technology of the past! Simple but worked! Jon

    JIPJOB,
Yeah, its sure a unique looker for sure. I don't know how much time he spent on it but I thought it turned out great. I'm not much on "wooden" cars but this guys efforts is an exception.
Hows the break job going? Ya got any pics of the '42 ?

bikerdad, you'll probably get more response if you start your own specific thread instead of going off topic.

Hey bikerdad39, Welcome to Club HotRod! Ya might wanna try starting a NEW Thread here in the HotRod Talk Forum. That will stick it on the Home Page for ALL to see and it'll give ya more exposure to our masses.

Then trip on over to our New Member Sign In Forum and let us know a little about yourself.

If ya can, snap a few low res pics of the parts in question and someone here will help ya ID them.

Man that is sweet!!! I wonder what kind of cabinets that guy has at home, heh. You don't always have to me a metal fabricator to like or build a car from the looks on that thing. Bikerdad39, I have a 48 Chevy Coupe as well. Mine is ALL in peices as well... Do a search for 48 Chevy pics and mine should come up from a thread that I made. If you need any help then let me know and I will see what I can do because I have been doing a ton of research on my car and seeing what goes where.
