    Question help on 351w

     



    i redid a 351w put every thing in this thing is new and i am having oil problem ... clearance where good all rods and main check around 1.5 to 1.7 when motor is hot oil drops to 19 pounds im thinking should be more like 35 to 40 at 1000 rpm...running 10w30 the only thing i could find was side clearance rod to crank was 024 but the eagle rods i got was 2 thousands smaller...dont really think this is my problem...change oil pump same thing and not running hv oil pump i really need some help with this i dont want to mess this thing up

    Before I'd do anything else would check accuracity of the oil guage--------------
    Mechanical--condition of lines, fittings, etc
    Electric------ground, ohms, temp, etc-------

    OK , so I gave an opt for others to join in----------

    rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000 rpm so your probably ok-------also change oil to thicker vis------ 10w30 is not a good choice for loose clearances and warm temps-------put 40 or 50 in and see if results change

    well i have Mechanical and Electric both the same ...by fords book my clearances is where they are suppose to be ....but also says it should be 30 and 35 the only thing that is not is rod to crank book says 20 and im at 24 eagle rod a little smaller let me give you a little back ground on motor ...redid this thing 20 years back...put 1200 miles on then cat got stop up ...which you know what happen then... took out cam and rings but oil pressure was 40 hot idling at light...50 to 65 all the other times never had oil problem.... people say 10 pounds ok but it is not for me on fresh motor... same build same bearing same clearances and cant see that much oil dumping out ... fig yall guys have did much more than i have been 20 years for me...the clearances i have book says need to be 30w oil..plastic gauge this thing green stuff lol kind i used ... im missing something and cant fig i out.....all oil galley plugs in... thinking maybe crack in oil galley some where...oil dumping some where

    Were the cam bearings replaced and installed properly?

    gakkey plug behind the dist gear????? front cam bearing lined up to feed gally to bottom of dist?
