    its been a long time!

So I got frustrated a long time ago with pic posting and got off most of the forums for awhile. All this to return to the issue... when I go to my attachment page I see 30 or so squares with question marks on them. How do I view whats behind the question marks? Id like to clean things up here and add some pics, but I would like to see what im working with... help! Thanks guys

I cant ever figure it out the square question marks either. I always go to google pics, save my picture to the desktop picture folder and import it from there under the the add files tab. It all seems a bit pre historic but it works ok. I figured out how to sent a picture on my smart phone once but it took a lot of messing around and I don't know if I could do it again.

HEY! It's Bob, Bob and of course.. BOB! How have you been!?!?! I was also cleaning out some old posts and PMs and ran across your "handle".. was curious how your move went. Well I hope.

On the pics thing. the software was supposed to provide a thumbnail so we'd have an idea of what each item was, but it never worked out or left incomplete? who knows.

Each item should have a title of what you named the upload ( provided you did name the file ) other wise I'd say go ahead and link to 5 at a time and share'em again. Been to quiet around here anyways and I'm sure we'd all like a trip back with you.

    Should be fun!

Oh, damn where to begin? San Diego just got to crazy and out of control to do business there. Born, raised, and home for 60 years we had to throw in the towel. Drumed up regulations and fees to support an out of control local government bent on supporting an illegal population was more then fun. We had to pull the trigger and do something to survive. So like every Hot Rod guy on the planet we got creative. We figured if Pete and Jakes could make a go of it in Missouri so could we. We loaded up the Super Duty and went for a well deserved vacation, what the Australians would call a walk about across the mid west.

I drove through a Missouri state park just outside of Licking MO. called Montauk. We thought it was the most beautiful place on Gods green earth. And coming from San Diego it was green! In our amazement we were taken that such a place actually existed. I instantly started inquiring about the area with the locals and was very impressed by how nice, open, and sincere everyone seemed to be to us... It didnt seem right at first? I kept the other Bobs out of sight of course. But we all agreed that we felt welcomed and in short order it was kinda like we remembered it in our youth in So. Cal... Friendly people! LOL

We did a quick search on line and found a 4000 sq. ft. road maintance building previously owned by the local townships road maintance department. It was perfect, it was just put on the market and would you believe it had two new truck lifts in it! With very little dickering our world changed! I have always believed that change is truly opportunity, the other Bobs disagree but Im the senior so I win. This was another opportunity to test MY theory!

We are truly fish out of water here. We arrived last January 5 (poor timing). With orders to fill I tried bending some tube only to have it snap due to the cold. (6*) Never experienced that in So. Cal. Never had a problem with paint drying either. And this humidity thing where it rains in your shop was truly unique. Some how we made it through to summer and got everything worked out. LOL. So here we are, loving all the new challenges, people, and our new way of life. Wish we would of done it 20 years ago! CHANGE IS TRULY OPPORTUNITY!

Oh and Bob #2 is closing down the shop in San Diego. Bob #3 is with us here in MO. and the biggest whiner one would ever want to meet! Keeps complaining about the cold! Instagram= metaltwister

Tornado season might be a bit to get used to but this is a pretty state with mostly friendly people. I was in San Diego for boot camp in 61 and for most of 62 I was at MCRD for electronics school. I loved San Diego and stayed in So Cal when I got out of the Corps in 66 going to work for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, By 72 I'd had it with Ca. in general and we moved to Springfield. I'm originally from Ohio so the seasons didn't bother me until a couple of years ago. I think you'll like it here.

Oh the contrast between the two places is truly night and day! It tickles me here, everyone without fail asks why I would move here from CA. I typically just smile and say its because of the people. Here folks get offended if you dont wave as your cars pass. There you get the middle finger wave if your not breaking the speed limit to keep up with the flow of traffic. Your right, already love here and wouldnt think of going back. It will only get better as I get acclimated to the slower pace. Its all good! Yeah, the tornado sirens are a bit un nerving.

You'll know you're acclimated when the tornado sirens go off and you head outside to watch! Not necessarily the right approach, but lots of people who've grown up in the area make it their practice.

Well, I hope you can get all the Bobs back together soon and settle back into a steady pace.

It is good to see you here again too.
