Hi im wanting to build a street rod short pickup just wondering which model is easiest to find parts Ford or Chevy the Fords seem to be cheaper to buy but Chevys are the most popular have not found the truck yet just getting started I'm a newbe any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thanks
I would go with a chevy. Performance parts wise I think you can build a chevy a little cheaper than a ford.
Really though, you should go with the one you like the most. You can get a lot of the parts from sheet metal to weatherstrip for either truck from lmctruck.com

I have owned a plethora of pickup trucks in my lifetime and would probably opt for my all-time favorite, 1966 Chevy C10 shortbed stepside with engine swap to LS3 and manual 5-speed.

I agree with getting what you like. No sense putting time and money into pickup that is cheap but you don't like it.
Any ideals where to find one ????

well I took you advice techinspector1 I bought a 1966 chevy only problem is its a long bed very nice not sure but could shorten it and try to find a step side bed ??? if I could find a step side bed .

yes ive seen on youtube it does not look complicated I think someone sells a kit for this project did not even have to remove rear end or brake lines pretty slick ?? Anyone know about this ???

Personally I love the long bed 66, I had one once.
Here is a kit to do the frame for your truck. You can cut down your long bed bed sides if you have the tools and can weld etc.
