    well I took you advice techinspector1 I bought a 1966 chevy only problem is its a long bed very nice not sure but could shorten it and try to find a step side bed ??? if I could find a step side bed .

    That's been done and I believe Hot Rod magazine did an article on it a few years back. IIRC they took a section out of the frame just past the cab.

    I'm not sure if a step side box is available in new pieces, but I know a shortbed fleetside is available in new pieces. Before you conduct a long search and spend a bunch of time patching up old sheet metal you might want to check prices on new pieces!
