I think those gremlins live in the black holes and like to play jokes on us. They take our stuff into the black holes and then toss some of it back through every now and then just to keep us confused.

Case in point. I "misplaced" my good older SK 1/4" drive ratchet. I have a couple of newer Craftsmans in that size, but the old SK just works better. It's been MIA for several months now and low and behold, I'm sweeping up a couple of days ago and there it is. It was under the corner of my parts washer and I've been working 4 feet from it all this time. It wasn't even hard to see!

You may be right about that, but I didn't think I was THAT fat! I can still see most of my feet.

I have a couple of red headed 2 legged gremlins that make things disappear and reappear. Scratch that. 2 red headed ones and 1 light brown headed one. A few weeks ago I was building mama a new dining room table. I was working outside the garage to finish the frame before a birthday party we were having that afternoon. I fit a tube and went to grab my helmet off the gas bottle to tack it in place. It was gone. I looked for a good bit when I realized it literally grew legs. Sure enough, I found Izzy running around in the neighbors yard chasing some other kids with my welding helmet on. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry or anything.

I know that one exactly! Over the winter I was using my 1/4" set and while cleaning up - the breaker bar and 6" extension are gone! Snap-on, not the cheap craftsman stuff either! It's just "GONE" 8-(

Lots of stuff has gone into that black hole, only to be regurgitated sometime after I have gone and bought a replacement for it.

Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.
